LOSTBELT NO. 1: PERMAFROST EMPIRE, ANASTASIA - THE GRAND DUCHESS OF THE BEAST NATION
MASH KYRIELIGHT.
LEONARDO DA VINCI (RIDER).
SHERLOCK HOLMES.
FOU.
GOREDOLF MUSIK.
MEUNIERE.
PATXI.
"The words Patxi shared with us at the start of our journey to destroy the Lostbelts... I think we ought to hold them dear to the very end."
"Is there anyone who didn't cry over Patxi's scenes?"
"I remember reading with a heavy sense of dread and anxiety as the members of Chaldea set off on a journey they had no choice but to take after losing their place to return to. Patxi often nitpicked at the protagonist, but only because he was treated with kindness when he first got help. He was once a good Yaga filled with curiosity and naively believed that if the world became a happy place, we’d travel together on the Border. That's why, when the protagonist had to choose between worlds, and the others were vaguely aware this was coming, I thought, 'Huhh?! You shoulda told them that from the get-go! Even if there'd been some misunderstanding and you weren't sure, mentioning it woulda at least prepared them. Hearing the shocking truth straight from the enemy like that was waaay too cruel, like, look—the protagonist's a dazed mess. But really, when you beat Goetia, you ended a lot of lives that were meant to be born after you, so... I guess it's kinda like the difference between witnessing an explosion firsthand and just pressing a button to detonate it from a safe distance. Or maybe... it's all a lie! Yeah! Like, if they're telling the truth here, the protagonist isn’t a good person anymore, yeah? So it's gotta be a lie!' ... It took me a long time to press the button after that. Patxi's encouraging words to the main character gave me a glimpse of what he really wanted from this world and what he hoped for the protagonist, and I couldn't stop crying. I'm really glad the main character got back on their feet, but it makes me sad to think about how they must have felt after seeing all that kindness up until that point. This is my favorite story of the Lostbelts."
"'This world is too cruel... Will every world after be like this?' That's how I felt at the time, half anxious and half excited."
"Honestly, I don’t think I would’ve gotten this far without what he said. The reason I can keep going and not give up is that I met him in the Russian Lostbelt, and he opened up to me in a way that feels almost like a curse. He’s my favorite character, not just in the Russian Lostbelt but in all the Lostbelts I’ve experienced so far, and I feel really attached to him."
AVICEBRON.
"I was really surprised and touched by Avicebron's confession, especially since he seemed so cold-hearted in another timeline."
ATALANTE (ALTER).
"That moment when sis cried was rough, but Patxi's scenes pierced me right through the heart as well. If it weren't for his "encouragement," I probably would have stayed down and never even started the second chapter.
BEOWULF.
BILLY THE KID.
"It was all really painful, but Billy gave me the strength to keep on fighting..."
ANTONIO SALIERI.
"Jealousy, hatred, adoration, respect. I found myself overwhelmed by the weight of his emotions. I'd never considered that someone's feelings for someone else could spill over like that."
"In the final scene, as Salieri played the piano amidst a world in collapse, I just couldn't stop crying tears of respect and sadness over everything."
"I cried so much in the final scene when he played 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star'. I think I could only start the next chapter on a positive note because there was a line that said, 'Our world lost because it never inspired something as beautiful as this.'"
"At first, he showed up as an NPC named Amadeus Alter, and was later introduced as the first 3-star Avenger. The battle music during the fight with Ivan the Terrible was awesome. I figured, sadly, the only place he could maintain his sanity was in the Lostbelt, but in the end I think he ended up being saved by that final piano performance."
"Chaldea must continue its journey to save the world, no matter what, so I was relieved to see Salieri step up to oversee the Lostbelt until the end."
MIYAMOTO MUSASHI.
KADOC ZEMLUPUS.
"In Type Moon, mages usually fit into one of three categories: prestige, prodigy, or peculiar. Kadoc, however, stands out as a unique, modern mage because 1) his abilities are pretty average, 2) he knows his way around modern tech, like rock 'n roll, and 3) his mage sensibilities are actually quite unconventional. Hell, isn't this the first time we've ever seen a mage this average make it to the end of a Holy Grail War? Love you bunches, Kadoc!"
"Kadoc knows he's lost, and he gets that it's a bit childish, but he just can't bring himself to admit it. He doesn't want to lose. But it's that stubbornness of his that I love. ... Y'know, looking back, there weren't actually too many moments for Kadoc and Anastasia's camp, but it was great to catch those little glimpses of their strong trust and chemistry. It felt like I dropped five kilos just from reading this story! It's super exhausting, but there's this exciting vibe to it that made me want to read it all in one go! If you haven't read it yet, you should! And if you have, it's worth a second read! Enjoy Lostbelt 1!"
"The relationship between Kadoc and Anastasia is so wonderful it makes me want to cry... the only Servant for Kadoc is Anastasia. She's the reason he could put his best face forward and keep going. Thank you."
"The very first Master VS. Master battle in FGO was totally fire, especially with that BGM tacked on. The way he yelled "Become the tsarina!" while casting a command spell was really awesome."
ANASTASIA.
"The interactions between Kadoc and Anastasia were really great. Even though they were with the "enemy", they cared for each other deeply right up until the end, which was super heartbreaking. Their combination was super strong."
IVAN THE TERRIBLE.
"RASPUTIN".
TAMAMO VITCH KOYANSKAYA.
MINOTAUR.
"We battled side by side as friends during the Singularity, and I've witnessed so many touching moments with him and Euryale in events since then, so it really hurt to witness this more mournful appearance of his."
"The monstrous side of Asterios that was brought to light. I always thought he was super chill and cute from Singularity 3, so I really took a liking to him. But looking back, he’s definitely more of a demihero. I totally got why they called him a monster—his huge size, those gnarly wounds, and the terrifying way he seemed to consume everything. But when he gazed into Euryale's eyes at the end of this life and said, "NO ONE ... EVER, LOOKED AT ME THAT WAY", and "I WISH, THAT HAD BEEN... ME", I was moved to tears. Even though everyone saw him as a monster, he wasn't really evil at heart. It honestly made me feel sad thinking he just wanted someone to understand him. I want to give all my love to Asterios, but I feel just as strongly for the Minotaur, the sorrowful monster who doesn’t know love. So please!! Please implement him!"
"I've been a fan of Asterios since Singularity 3, so it really hurt to have to take him down... I just wanted to call him Asterios."
OPRICHNIK.
