PATXI.
"The words Patxi shared with us at the start of our journey to destroy the Lostbelts... I think we ought to hold them dear to the very end."
"Is there anyone who didn't cry over Patxi's scenes?"
"I remember reading with a heavy sense of dread and anxiety as the members of Chaldea set off on a journey they had no choice but to take after losing their place to return to. Patxi often nitpicked at the protagonist, but only because he was treated with kindness when he first got help. He was once a good Yaga filled with curiosity and naively believed that if the world became a happy place, we’d travel together on the Border. That's why, when the protagonist had to choose between worlds, and the others were vaguely aware this was coming, I thought, 'Huhh?! You shoulda told them that from the get-go! Even if there'd been some misunderstanding and you weren't sure, mentioning it woulda at least prepared them. Hearing the shocking truth straight from the enemy like that was waaay too cruel, like, look—the protagonist's a dazed mess. But really, when you beat Goetia, you ended a lot of lives that were meant to be born after you, so... I guess it's kinda like the difference between witnessing an explosion firsthand and just pressing a button to detonate it from a safe distance. Or maybe... it's all a lie! Yeah! Like, if they're telling the truth here, the protagonist isn’t a good person anymore, yeah? So it's gotta be a lie!' ... It took me a long time to press the button after that. Patxi's encouraging words to the main character gave me a glimpse of what he really wanted from this world and what he hoped for the protagonist, and I couldn't stop crying. I'm really glad the main character got back on their feet, but it makes me sad to think about how they must have felt after seeing all that kindness up until that point. This is my favorite story of the Lostbelts."
"'This world is too cruel... Will every world after be like this?' That's how I felt at the time, half anxious and half excited."
"Honestly, I don’t think I would’ve gotten this far without what he said. The reason I can keep going and not give up is that I met him in the Russian Lostbelt, and he opened up to me in a way that feels almost like a curse. He’s my favorite character, not just in the Russian Lostbelt but in all the Lostbelts I’ve experienced so far, and I feel really attached to him."
